Vacation in architectural monument combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model provides a double benefit: the monuments are given a revitalised future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the ‘Vacation in architectural monument’ foundation, which was set up by the Swiss Heritage Society in 2005. People: 5-9  Rooms: 2-4 bedrooms with 2 single beds each and a sleeping possibility in the library. For occupancy up to 5 persons, only 2 floors are occupied. If there are more than 5 people, the top floor is opened up for guests. Season: All year round. Although it is technically equipped to modern standards, we would like to point out that certain functional details such as window and door openers, stair handrails and step heights do not comply with current standards and may be a potential source of danger.
